Objectives of the session:

  • To discuss the key opportunities and challenges for Somaliland's trade development.
  • To explore the role of the Berbera Corridor in promoting trade and regional integration
  • To identify ways to overcome the challenges and capitalize on the opportunities that Somaliland can be trade and a service hub.
  • To learn from the experiences of other countries in promoting trade and regional integration.

 

The session will present a research presentation on Technical barriers to trade along Berbera Corridor. Subsequently, there will be also another technical presentation on the Private sector Development gaps in Somaliland. As the two presentations made, the two experts will take questions from the audience and will open discussion for all participants will start.

The session on trade and regional integration will be a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of promoting trade and regional integration in Somaliland. The session could also be used to explore the different ways in which the government, the private sector, and civil society can play a role in promoting trade and regional integration.
