Objectives of the session

Main issues of the session will be focused on following:

  • Diversifying the revenue base: The Government relies too heavily on a single source of revenue, such as taxes or customs duties. This can make the government's budget vulnerable to fluctuations in that source of revenue. Diversifying the revenue base can help to make the government's budget more stable.

  • Reducing dependence on customs: Customs duties are taxes imposed on goods imported into the country. They can be a good way to raise revenue, but they can also discourage trade and economic growth. Governments should try to reduce their dependence on customs duties by diversifying their revenue base and by negotiating trade agreements that reduce or eliminate tariffs.

  • Using new technologies to make government budgeting more transparent and efficient: There are a number of new technologies that can be used to make government budgeting more transparent and efficient. i.e PFM, BRLS and other government systems.

  • Investments: What sort of investment can the government do to generate income in the future.
