Objectives of the session

In order to encourage sustainable investment, the government and regulatory bodies must play a significant role. They might promote the demand for sustainable investments, improve the regulatory framework that supports them, and facilitate the decision-making process for investors. This will hasten the shift to a more competitive, conducive, and environmentally friendly investment climate. Therefore, the session should go into greater detail on the crucial actions that the government must do to ensure that there will be sufficient and sustained investment in key sectors. The session will also present academic research done on investment facilitation in Somaliland.

The panel session will be a valuable opportunity to discuss the challenges and opportunities of promoting sustainable investment in Somaliland. The discussion could also be used to explore the different ways in which the government and regulatory bodies can play a role in encouraging sustainable investment.
